Sophia M. Chung, M.D.
Dr. Sophia M. Chung is an ophthalmologist in Iowa City, Iowa and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital-St. Louis University. She received her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
Sergina Flaherty, COMT, OSC, CTC, (F)ATPO
Sergina serves as a speaker before industry groups and private organizations. She has taught continuing education courses to ophthalmic technicians around the country and has published articles in industry publications including the Ophthalmic Professional, the Association of Technical Personnel in Ophthalmology (ATPO) Viewpoints Journal, the Ophthalmic Photographers Society (OPS) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) EyeNet magazine. As a prominent ophthalmic technologist in the country, Sergina is currently a past President and Fellow of the Association of Technical Personnel in Ophthalmology (ATPO). She is owner and principal instructor at Ophthalmic Seminars of San Antonio.
Sergina has developed and moderates “Ophthalmic Tech’s on Facebook” group of over 5,500 AOP since March 2015 and is owner and principle of Ophthalmic Seminars of San Antonio. She works full time with Dr.’s Allison Paige Young, Kristin Story Held, and Jana Waters at Stone Oak Ophthalmology as their senior ophthalmic technician seeing patients with them daily.

Lisa Rovick, EdD, CO, COMT
Lisa Rovick, is an Associate Professor and a member of the team in the Interprofessional Education (IPE) Department at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She teaches introductory survey courses in IPE, a course on aging, and two courses spanning both humanities and healthcare topics. In past years, she has taught courses in the Ophthalmic Technician and Orthoptics programs, which are no longer offered at St. Catherine University. She earned a Master of Health Science, with a concentration in Higher Education, from Nova Southeastern University in 2008, and a doctorate (Ed.D.) in educational leadership and online education from American College of Education in 2021. She continues to promote the importance of vision screening and pediatric eye care, mentoring students at the university and using orthoptic skills whenever possible. In addition, she has taught multiple continuing education courses for AACO, ATPO, JCAHPO, Vision Expo, SECO, and internationally.

Savory Turman serves as Director of Clinical Operations of the Eye Center of Northern Colorado. She has more than 20 years of ophthalmology experience in every facet: optician, technician, testing technician, research, educator, and administrator.
Rhonda Waldron, MMSc, COMT, CRA, ROUB, CDOS
I have been providing high quality ophthalmic ultrasound training to both physicians and ophthalmic technical personnel since the early 1990’s while working at Emory Eye Center in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1999 I started my own company, Eye Scan Consulting, providing regional and private accredited educational seminars in Ophthalmic Biometry and IOL Calculations and Diagnostic B-Scan Ultrasound and UBM across the country and into Europe and Canada. I continue to volunteer my time and expertise as an instructor at various regional, national and international meetings, including JCAHPO and ATPO annual continuing education programs, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery annual meeting, the Hawaiian Eye Meeting (where I have earned multiple awards for my presentations), and have lectured for both the nurses and doctor’s programs for twelve years at the Annual Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. In 2009 I had the honor of lecturing to physicians at the Middle Eastern African Council of Ophthalmology in Bahrain and to physicians at the Romanian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery in 2015. I obtained a Bachelors of Science degree with a double major in Chemistry and Biology in 1982 and graduated from the Ophthalmic Technology program at Emory University and received my JCAHPO certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist in 1984. I became a Certified Retinal Angiographer in 1986, and earned my Master of Medical Science degree in Ophthalmic Technology from Emory University in 1994, became a Registered Ophthalmic Ultrasound Biometrist in 1997, and a Certified Diagnostic Ophthalmic Sonographer in 2001. I worked in a private vitreo-retinal practice for three years before joining the staff at Emory Eye Center in 1988. Currently I am a Diagnostic Echographer for Emory Eye Center, and have been awarded the faculty position of Senior Associate in Ophthalmology at Emory University School of Medicine. I was a certified echographer for the Collaborative Ocular Melanoma Study, and am author of an educational module for the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Refinements series entitled “B-Scan Ultrasound: Indications and Applications”, as well as chapters for the online medical resource site Medscape entitled “A-Scan Biometry” and “Ocular B-Scan Ultrasound”. I have had many ultrasound images published, and have authored and/or co-authored numerous articles on immersion biometry and B-scan ultrasound. I am currently an ultrasound consultant for Aura Biosciences AU-011 Ocular Melanoma Trial, and an ultrasound reader for the Digital Angiography Reading Center in addition to my position at Emory Eye Center and my teaching.
Michelle Willis, COMT, OSA, OSC, (F)ATPO
Michelle Willis has 42 years of experience in ophthalmology. She has served as a moderator, speaker, and co-instructor for both ATPO and IJCAHPO events, as well as state society meetings in North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida. She has served on the ATPO board and the IJCAHPO board and is a former president of ATPO. She currently sits on the certification committee for IJCAHPO and on the Foundation Board for IJACHPO. She is passionate about training her peers and creating that spark to become an eye nerd. She is also passionate about quality eye care for the patient.
Kenneth E. Woodworth, Jr., COMT, COE, FASOA
Ken is a dual-certified ophthalmic medical technologist (COMT) and ophthalmic executive (COE). He has been continuously involved in ophthalmology in various capacities since 1971. He has sat on and chaired the National Board for the Certification of Ophthalmic Executives (NBCOE) and has been an At-Large member on the ASOA Governing Board of Directors. He is a JCAHPO, ATPO and KATPO Past President. He has given numerous presentations on clinical optics, administrative ophthalmology and AOP issues and has authored, co-authored or co-edited publications in those areas. He is owner and senior consultant for Ophthalmic Consulting Services based in Lexington, KY.
